Good morning! A pretty view over the Smokies this morning, as clouds are slow to dissipate here. Elsewhere, mostly sunny skies prevail across the valley and will remain in place through the rest of the day. Looking outside at temperatures compared to this time yesterday, we are definitely cooler. This will be reflected in highs as well, with most topping out in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. A cool crisp "fall-like" feel can be expected to start Thursday off, with overnight lows tonight in the mid 50s for many. Yes, you may want to get a light coat ready for your Thursday morning attire. High pressure will keep things dry through Friday, before shower chances return through the weekend. Larger scope though, Hurricane Lee is expected to work north over the next several days. As it gets into cooler waters it will weaken, but not before making landfall in the northeast. Maine will see the biggest impacts of this system, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall late weekend. This will continue to drift northeast, exiting the USA by early next week. Cloud cover across the Plateau and Smokies will continue to dissipate this afternoon, leaving partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine are then in store through the end of the work week. Enjoy it! Warmer air builds back in next week. Pre-recorded for 5pm weather broadcast
