Some good news to start the week in terms of the recent drought development. We have had plenty of rainfall across the eastern half of Tennessee, specifically East Tennessee. Looking below, the past 7 days we have recorded anywhere from 1.5 inches up to 5" across the northern Plateau and Valley. This is good news as many locations across our neck of the woods were running abnormally dry. Unfortunately, West TN saw very little rainfall and will likely continue their climb into a severe drought. Additional good news today, temperatures are right on par with averages. The muggy meter is also much lower today, making things feel a little more pleasant than they have in recent weeks. Take advantage because that quickly changes tomorrow and Wednesday. Highs today should top out around 90, with low 90s tomorrow afternoon. In terms of rainfall potential ahead, a cold front will slowly work in from our north and west. As it does so, isolated shower and storm chances will creep in later tomorrow, before scattered showers and storms find us Wednesday. The bulk of activity will come the first half of the day Wednesday, before clearing finds the area into Thursday. A few isolated stronger storms can't be ruled out Wednesday, but severe chances are very low. Cooler temperatures will also follow the front, bringing upper 80s Thursday and to around 90 on Friday. Overall, once cloud cover thins out today, it will be pleasant. Limited shower/storm chances will be present tomorrow, with better chances Tuesday night and into Wednesday. Another shot of cooler air and dry conditions then return Thursday and all of Friday. Have a good week and don't forget to reach out to us for any of your business needs. Pre-recorded for 5pm show
