It has been a pleasant day so far with plenty of sunshine. As we progress toward the evening, cloud cover (associated with a weak cold front) will pivot in from the west. A few isolated showers to sprinkles will be possible with this overnight and early into Friday. Other than the light and brief activity, sunshine will make a return by tomorrow afternoon. With a cold front working through tonight, temperatures will be again on the cooler side Friday. Knoxville averages highs in the mid to upper 70s and will likely be 10+ degrees cooler than that to wrap up the work week. Anticipate temperatures staying below normal for the next 5-7 days. Looking at guidance, a brief system will bring a few isolated showers (mainly in Kentucky) tonight and Friday morning. Following, high pressure will dry things out Friday afternoon and early Saturday, before another (and better) round of showers arrives Saturday evening and through the day Sunday. A few showers will linger into Monday before gradual clearing midweek. Overall, the next several days will be a mixed bag of sunshine and rounds of shower activity. Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend with cloud cover increasing through the day and a few isolated showers possible in the afternoon and overnight. Sunday should be cloudy with on and off showers (and a few storms) possible. Pre-recorded for 5pm show
