Good afternoon! Many are seeing high clouds working across the area. Further south, a few showers can't be entirely ruled out this afternoon over the Smokies and east into the Carolinas/Georgia. No worries for the valley though, as we remain under sunny to partly cloudy skies for the day and highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. To close out the work week tomorrow, sunshine returns in full force. Though temperatures might feel mild (around 80 degrees), the UV index will be high (8-9). As such, protect yourself with some sunscreen if outside for lengthy periods of time. Our streak of dry weather will come to a close into the weekend, as a cold front approaches from the west. This will allow increased cloud cover Saturday, and isolated shower or storm chances by the afternoon. A better shot of rain (30-40%) comes Saturday night into Sunday, followed by drier air with high pressure Sunday evening into the new work week. This will also give us a fresh blast of cooler air, before warming towards mid week. Pre-recorded for 5pm weather broadcast
