We started chilly this morning with temperatures dipping into the 20's and even teens for some locations. Thankfully, we've warmed up a bit with current temperatures in the low 40's. Highs this afternoon should top out in the mid 50's with improving warmth through the weekend and next week. Looking over Newfound Gap, there's not even a cloud in the sky. Dominating high pressure will keep things sunny and quiet for the next several days. Weather-wise, the biggest news is the warming trend. Taking a look below, temperatures will again dip below freezing tonight. An active free warning is in effect tonight into Saturday morning. Protect sensitive vegetation and plants. Some locations could see a freeze/frost issue Saturday into Sunday, but following, much warmer air is in store. As you can see below, temperatures in the 60's and 70's will be seen Easter afternoon. Some locations could warm to as high as 80 by early to mid next week. A gorgeous weekend is in store. Take advantage of the warming temperatures, light winds, and sunshine. Have a fantastic Easter Sunday and weekend! Pre-recorded for 5pm show
