Strong & Severe Storms Midweek

A passing disturbance will look to bring scattered showers and storms today, some of which could be strong across portions of the plateau and western zones of the valley. Overall, trends should be of weakening activity this afternoon to evening. After this, a cold front will bring additional rounds of storms, much more widespread in nature. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us under an enhanced risk (plateau and northern half of the valley) to a slight risk everywhere else on Wednesday into Thursday morning. PLEASE be weather aware the later half of the day tomorrow, as several rounds of strong to severe storms are possible. The timing for these come late afternoon to evening, and then again in the overnight hours. With the timing of this activity not ideal, have a way to receive alerts at night/during your sleep time in order to take the proper action. All hazards are on the table, with damaging wind gusts and large hail the primary threats but scattered tornadoes also being possible. We will keep you posted, as always, with better details on timing, potential impacts, and more tomorrow morning.
